FORT ADAMS WEDDING, NEWPORT RI
JUNE 11, 2016 RHODE ISLAND SEASIDE, SUMMER, WEDDINGS
Katie and Sam were recently married in Newport RI at the historical Fort Adams. Although the weather that day started out rainy, pushing the ceremony into the casemates of the old fort, it made everything seem that much more magical.
Aside from the weather, this wedding’s magic was also helped along by several talented vendors, including floral designer Semia, Boston makeup artist Lyndsay Simson, hair stylist Nicole Valenzuela, caterer Smoke and Pickles and dessert Flour Bakery.

Fort Adams First Look, Newport RI
June 11, 2016 Rhode Island Seaside, Summer, Weddings
Katie and Sam’s Fort Adams wedding recently took place in Newport, Rhode Island. After having a breathtaking first look, which took place within the open aired crumbling buildings of this historical fort, the couple took a quiet moment together before the ceremony. Many people worry a first look may fade the emotional impact of their wedding day unveiling, but after seeing their magical moment you might think differently.

I’ve really enjoyed seeing this lovely image showcased on the
Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center website of Jesse and Cat Winters’ wedding! It is truly my favorite place to photograph a wedding. Boston Harbor island’s are wild and full of the most magical places to photograph.

Awesome session with Brooke, Ryan, and Reese! We had a perfect day at the beach with an amazing powder blue sky. Little Reese was a rascal. All she wanted to do was dive into the water. It was great fun!

Looking forward to exhibiting some of my photography from Namibia at Boston Children’s Hospital ‘s International Gallery.
Dates: Boston Campas from Feb 8 – May 31
Waltham Campas from June 1 – Sept 30
I visited the village of Omarumba in the Northern Namibia, where the Himba people allow outsiders to see their traditional way of life. The Himba are ancient people who have had very little contact with the outside world. They are famous for the orange butter the woman use on their hair and skin called “otjize”.
During my travels in Namibia I also had the pleasure of photographing inside the Namib-Naukluft Park. The most interesting area of the Park for me was Deadvlei. Deadvlei is a white clay pan that is like a graveyard for trees, and for a place devoid of life, it’s quite beautiful. DeadVlei or Dead Vlei, its name means “dead marsh” Dead Vlei has been claimed to be surrounded by the highest sand dunes in the world, reaching 1,312 feet high. A river once brought water to Deadvlei, but when the climate changed the river dried up and Deadvlei has been an arid, lifeless place ever since. Tree skeletons scorched by the sun stand among desiccated land. Some species of plants still do grow, but for the most part Deadvlei is an eerily beautiful and deserted place you have to see to believe.
